Every time a monthly BookTube video roundup comes along, I get so stressed because this means that another month has gone by and I have no idea how. XD But it’s all good, because more often than not, forward means better. And right now, I’m hoping with all my heart that whatever’s coming next is better than what went by. Because I need something better or I will spontaneously combust.
I did take a long break from blogging and BookTube in general, so this might seem a little out of the blue. But I did want to do a monthly roundup instead of a weekly one, like I did before, because I’ve reduced the number of videos to 2 per week. I will now be posting videos to YouTube on Wednesdays and Saturdays as against the Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays of before, which means it will be easier for me to catch up as well.
In today’s monthly BookTube video roundup, I’ll be taking you through all the videos that I posted on my BookTube channel in the month of September 2021. In hindsight, I don’t know if there were very many, but how many ever there were, you can find in this list. Except member-exclusive videos. Those won’t be here because they’re, well, exclusive to channel members. XD
If you’d like to become a channel member and enjoy the perks, here’s the link to join in: Channel Memberships – The Melodramatic Bookworm. Thanks in advance if you decide to. 🙂
Also, a reminder: if you’re interesting in buying any of the books that I’ve mentioned in these videos, please use my Amazon Affiliate links mentioned in the descriptions. It would be of immense help to me. 🙂

#1 – September 2021 TBR
Date Posted: 4 September, 2021
So I decided to make a full-fledged comeback to BookTube with a type of video that I really enjoy doing – TBR videos! In this video, I spoke about the books I wanted to read in September 2021 and why. You’ll have to wait for my wrap up to see if I managed to finish all the books, but if it’s any kind of spoiler alert, I’m pretty happy with my September reading when compared to my TBR. That’s something I guess. 😀

#2 – Tier Ranking My July and August 2021 Reads
Date Posted: 11 September, 2021
I hadn’t had the time or the energy to do my July wrap up and I really wanted to talk about some books that I had read in July. So what did I do? I combined it with my August reading wrap up and pushed it into a tier ranking video. I talked about all the books I read in July AND August 2021 and it took me quite a while to film. But my first time doing a tier ranking video wasn’t about to be easy because boy was it a pain in the bum to edit! But I’m really happy with how it came out. So I think all’s well that ends well.

#3 – 7 Best Short Stories as Audiobooks for Beginners
Date Posted: 15 September, 2021
This was a paid collaboration with Storytel India.
For this video, I listened to 7 short stories on the Storytel app and reviewed them for my viewers. These short stories were fun, happy, a little sad, but all in all, were great experiences in their own right. I think that’s all I can say for this one right here. But do go watch the video perhaps? 😀

#4 – Books With Plot Twists You Won’t See Coming
Date Posted: 18 September, 2021
This was a video that I had filmed before I went on my BookTube break and thought, ‘Okay, let’s get this up before filming fresh content.’ This did go up but some others are still stuck over there. Lol on me, maybe. But this video is one that I had been wanting to do for a while, so perhaps it’s a win for me either way. I loved filming this video even though I couldn’t giving away a lot of details about the books in question. Because saying that there’s a plot twist is fine. But telling my viewers what the plot twist is sort of, kind of spoils the book, doesn’t it?

#5 – Subscriber Pick – August 2021
Date Posted: 22 September, 2021
Every month, I do a video for my subscribers where they pick a book among 4 or 5 options that I give them and I read, vlog, and review it for them. For the month of August, they chose The Stationery Shop of Tehran, which was also our Bookbound Club pick for the month of August. The book was absolutely heartbreaking and I didn’t know what to do at the end of it. I was devastated. And I’d highly recommend you read this book because IT IS SO GOOD. So sad, but SO GOOD!

#6 – 5 Inspirational Speeches by Jiddu Krishnamurti to Change Your Life for the Better
Date Posted: 25 September, 2021
This was also a paid collaboration with Storytel India.
This was the first time I had heard of Mr. Jiddu Krishnamurti but when I started listening to his speeches on Storytel, I was blown away. There was just so much depth to what he was saying and these transcripts from his speeches were also a way of transporting me into the past. A past that is wise and is giving me motivation through everything that’s going on right now. But yes, if you’re into this kind of thing, then these are speeches that you should definitely listen to. Go get a Storytel subscription too!

#7 – October 2021 TBR
Date Posted: 29 September, 2021
Another TBR and this time, it’s just in time! If you’ve read my previous blog post where I spoke about my October reading plans, you’ll know that I’m co-hosting the Scaredy Cat Readathon with Smriti from the YouTube channel, Sant Reads. So this video is where I talk about the books I’m reading for this readathon as well as some other books I plan to tackle this month. I don’t know if I’ll be able to get through all of them because they’re so darn huge, but I have my fingers crossed. I just hope I will be able to!
