Monthly BookTube Video Roundup – December 2021

Hi there! 2021 is past and though I missed posting about the videos that I uploaded to my YouTube channel in November, I didn’t want to miss out on the December content. Today’s blog post is the list of videos that I posted to my Booktube channel in the month of December 2021. There are 9 videos in here, one of them a book haul, and a couple of sponsored videos that I had so much fun making. Let’s get right on with it!

A quick reminder that I am a Booktuber, Bookstagrammer, and book blogger who creates content because she loves to. Books are my passion and I don’t make anything off of my blog. 1. December 2021 TBR

Date Posted: 2 December, 2021

I thought I’d never learn my lesson and that I would keep adding a gazillion books to my monthly TBRs. But I did and for December, I chose 10 books. But the problem is, I wasn’t able to finish even those. Which is why, I have decided to do away with monthly TBRs for the foreseeable future. *sigh*

The wrap up video and post for December 2021 will be up soon, so stay tuned. Link to the video: December 2021 TBR

2. End of the Year Book Tag 2021

Date Posted: 4 December, 2021

A tag that I plan to make a yearly tradition of, this is one book tag that is short, sweet, to the point, and fun to make. Oh, also, easy to edit. 😛 I made so many plans in this short video, none of which came to fruition. And now, I’m laughing at how optimistic I was in that video. 😛

3. Book Review: Something Strange Over the Yellow Lotus

Date Posted: 8 December, 2021

This was a book review in which I spoke about a book called Something Strange Over the Yellow Lotus, a historical fantasy that had a good concept, but a not-so-good execution. Book reviews receive horrible engagement on YouTube because the algorithm is weird. I’d appreciate it if you could show this video (and all others, if you can :D) some love!

4. November 2021 Wrap Up

Date Posted: 11 December, 2021

What a fabulous time I had making this video! To have the knowledge that I read 21 books in November 2021 was enough to keep me afloat. But to actually get through those 21 books? Not a cakewalk, for sure. 😛 It was, however, fun despite the pain recollecting the books read. Does that loopy paragraph make sense? 😛

5. Kavita Kane Originals on Storytel India

Date Posted: 18 December, 2021

This was a paid collaboration with Storytel India.

Kavita Kane is a much loved writer of mythological fiction and retellings in the Indian writing scene. So when two of her short stories, The Lover – a story about Rati, the wife and consort of the god of love, Kamadeva – and The Seductress – a story about Urvashi, the heavenly damsel, were released as Storytel Originals, I jumped. Especially since they were narrated by Sudhanshu Pandey and Tisca Chopra respectively!

6. Reading Vlog: Nonfiction November & No Makeup November

Date Posted: 21 December, 2021

In this reading vlog, I combined Nonfiction November with a concept that I came up with, called No Makeup November, where throughout the vlog, I had no makeup on. And I ended up finishing 3 nonfiction books across a couple of weeks. So that’s a win, I guess. No? 😀 Although editing the vlog itself was a pain in the ass. XD

7. Audiobook Recommendations – 5 Christmas Audiobooks on Storytel India

Date Posted: 24 December, 2021

This was a paid collaboration with Storytel India.

Christmas time pushed me into listening to Christmas audiobooks, something that I had so much fun doing! These 5 audiobooks ranged from classics to modern day stories, and a couple were by authors I had never thought had written books like these.

8. Shoutout Sunday – Episode 6

Date Posted: 26 December, 2021

Shoutout Sundays, in which I talk about 5 digital creators I love on the last Sunday of every month, had taken a break because of various reasons. But I brought it back in December with some amazing people for you to follow. I’m hoping to stay on track and keep posting these videos consistently!

9. Last Book Haul of 2021

Date Posted: 30 December, 2021

How could I not have done this? 😉

This is another video I want to make into a tradition and post every year. But although every one of my other book hauls has received a lot of love, this one hasn’t seen much success. It’s gotten just 450-ish views in the 5 days that it’s been live and I’m a little disappointed. But then again, it’s completely okay, because I’ve decided to stop breaking my head over these things. Gah. Wait for the blog post that’s coming on 15th of this month. I’m talking more about it in that!

So those were all the videos that I posted to my Booktube channel in the month of December 2021. Have you watched them? If not, have I convinced you to do so? Will you please, please subscribe to me? If you are, then a big, big thank you! 🙂

Do let me know down below in the comments what you think of these videos and this kind of post. I’d love to hear from you!

I’ll be back soon with a new blog post.

Until then, keep reading, keep watching, and add melodrama to your life! 😀
