Recent Reads – March 2024 Edition | January & February 2024 Reading Wrap Up

Reading wrap ups are a bit of a paradox for me because on one hand, I do love them a lot, given that they let me look back on a reading month and reminisce on all my reads. But on the other hand, actually doing that makes me feel like I’m being pushed towards the edge of a cliff that has a cushion two feet from it. I know that I love it and I’ll be fine, but that anxious gremlin inside me is always trying to convince me to just slowly back away. Which is why my January and February 2024 reading wrap ups have taken so long to put up, even though I’d started writing both of these on time.

Favorite and Least Favorite Books of 2023 | 2023 Reading Wrap Up Series

The end of a year and the start of a new year is always scramble time for me, because I’ve got to do my end-of-year wrap ups and start-of-year plans. I started off 2024 with full energy, posting my 2024 goals, a book review (Roman Stories by Jhumpa Lahiri), and one in my 2023 reading wrap up series (Books I DNFed in 2023). But after that, things got weirdly lethargic health-wise and I somehow lost steam for a bit, trying to post on all platforms but only succeeding on one or two at any given time. That was the impetus that pushed me and I forced myself to revisit my goals for the year. It reminded me of what I want for my brand in 2024 and how I want to succeed. And that success isn’t going to come about if I flail around like a headless chicken. So here I am, trying to get my to-do list set according to priority and trying to check them off one by one.

I Read 14 Romance Books in 14 Days | Fresh Romance Book Recommendations

So… Hi there! I’ve been AWOL like so many other times before, but I knew I had to come here and talk about these books I read recently for Valentine’s Day. I did a whole reading vlog where I read 14 books in 14 days so that I could give my subscribers some fresh romance book recommendations. I did this last year as well but I failed to read 14 books then, but this year, I did it! In today’s blog post, I’m taking you through the 14 romance books I read in the first 14 days of February and hopefully, you’ll get some fresh romance book recommendations from this.

Books I DNFed in 2023 | 2023 Reading Wrap Up Series

Welcome to the first blog post in my 2023 reading wrap up series. In today’s blog post, I will take you through the 6 books that I DNFed – Did Not Finish – in 2023. Some of these books weren’t bad. They just either weren’t for me or I wasn’t in the mood and it wasn’t the right time for me to read them.

Roman Stories by Jhumpa Lahiri | Book Review

Roman Stories is Jhumpa Lahiri’s latest work, a return to her roots, if you will, because this is a collection of short stories like her Pulitzer Prize winning Interpreter of Maladies. I’ve been a fan of Jhumpa Lahiri’s writing for a bit and when this book was announced, I promptly lost my mind. But before I get into what I think of her new book, I have to take a step or two back to tell you how I fell in love with her words.

2024 Goals | New Turning Points, New Horizons…

Happy, happy new year, folks! I hope that 2024 brings you everything you hope and wish for and that your life is filled with love, light, and strength. ❤ Today’s blog post is all about my 2024 goals. But before that, a little background, a little introspection as one does at the dawn of a new year.

The Social Shaming of Childless People | Enough is Enough!

There are a lot of blog posts that I’ve been wanting to write, but the one I’ve been fixating on for months now is this one: how the world sees women who don’t have or want children. It is a pillar of patriarchy since time immemorial, this pigeonholing of women. And we are treated accordingly depending on how we react to it. If we have children, we’re rewarded for it. But if we say we don’t want children, oh heavens save us, we are looked down upon. Society (even people we know) makes sure to tell us that we are the embodiment of the devil himself. Just go watch the pro-lifers and you’ll see what I’m saying.

November 2023 Reading Wrap Up | Books I Read in November 2023 | Recent Reads

Today’s blog post is my November 2023 reading wrap up. I read 11 books in November and although I wanted to read a bunch of nonfiction books for Nonfiction November, there were only a few that I managed to actually read. I will also be withholding sharing one of the books I read in November because I’m saving them for vlogs that I want to be putting up soon. I mean, I’ve been waiting for a few books to arrive at the library and only 2 of the 3 have become available, so all I can do is continue to wait. But I’m very excited for these vlogs to go up!

Recent Reads – October 2023 Edition | Books I Read Recently | 10 Mini Book Reviews

My previous Recent Reads blog posts were reading wrap ups in which I talked about ALL the books I read in the mentioned months. But today, the content in here, while being a collection of mini book reviews, is also a random collection of books that I’ve read in recent times. I’ve reviewed these books on Instagram, also where these reviews are from. Yeah, I know, I’m a genius, reusing my content across platforms. 😛 The point is, I’m really proud of these reviews and wanted to share them with you here.

Aashiqui Forever by Yashesh Rathod | Book Review

The year 1990 saw the release of Aashiqui, a Bollywood romance starring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal as Rahul and Anu, two lovers trying to live their love while the world tries to bring them down. It was a runaway hit and its music is well-loved to this day. Yashesh Rathod pays tribute to this movie, as the title might suggest, in a new, short romance novella called Aashiqui Forever.
