This book would probably have killed me by giving me high blood pressure. I was so pissed off with each page I turned that it took me all my strength and energy to not throw the book across the room. And I was reading it on the Kindle app on my laptop, so I know that that was a good decision.

I have never read a book by Aarti V Raman before. She’s been on my radar, but I’ve never gotten the chance to read her work before. But this time, I did pick up one of her books and now, I know that any time I want to read a well-written romance by an Indian author, I’m going to go and read one of her books. And that’s all thanks to The Worst Daughter Ever!

House of Rougeaux by Jenny Jaeckel | Book Review
I got an early copy of House of Rougeaux from NetGalley in exchange for feedback. My impression of books from sites that give away books for review is that the books there are not always ‘wow’. The covers are enticing, the blurbs even more so. But then the stories mostly turn out to be narratives where the authors simply don’t know what they are doing. (I was new to the Netgalley scene at this point and the whole intro seems so tone-deaf, to be honest. XD But I’ll keep it for self-introspection sake. :P)
False Ceilings by Amit Sharma | Book Review
Author Amit Sharma’s book, False Ceilings, I have to admit, is a pleasant surprise in terms of how strongly it makes you feel nostalgic and want to go back to reading history as soon as possible. The summary at the back of the book provides a certain level of intrigue that is added to by the muted impressiveness of the front cover.
